What Psychic Pokémon are weak to, what they resist and how to beat them.
Psychic type weakness is three types: Bug, Ghost and Dark. Psychic Pokémon resist Fighting and Psychic. Psychic moves hit Fighting and Poison for double damage, but Dark types take nothing from them, so a Psychic attacker with only Psychic moves can get walled.

Best counters to Psychic
The best answer to a Psychic Pokémon is something that hits it hard and shrugs off its attacks. These types do both:
- Darkhits Psychic for 2×, takes 0× from Psychic moves.
Bug and Ghost also hit Psychic for double damage but don't resist it, so use them to attack first.
Psychic dual types
A second type changes everything. These Psychic pairings have the fewest weaknesses:
Psychic / Normal: weak to Bug and Dark; immune to Ghost. Example: Oranguru.
Psychic / Fairy: weak to Poison, Ghost and Steel; immune to Dragon. Example: Galarian Rapidash.
Psychic / Dark: weak to Bug (4×) and Fairy; immune to Psychic. Example: Malamar.
Psychic / Poison: weak to Ground, Ghost and Dark. Example: Galarian Slowbro.

Tip
Psychic / Fairy (Gardevoir, Hatterene) takes a quarter damage from Fighting and is immune to Dragon, but is weak to Ghost, Poison and Steel. Keep a Fire or Ground type behind it for the Steel types.
